I’m very proud to announce a new collaborative album that’s been in the works for a little over a year now, featuring Fallen Sun (the noisier aspect of Reverse Image) and Sacher-Pelz (a.k.a. Maurizio Bianchi / MB) together with me. This is not a "split" release but rather a genuine trio collaboration in which each phase features input and output from all the participants.

This is easily one of the LOUDEST things I have put my hands to in some time - a dense and immersive roar, mastered by Ryoko Ono for added precision and consistency. In fact, it took only 30 seconds or so of playback before the behavior modifying features of my mobile device warned me that I already exceeded my recommended allowance for high volume, and I should consider taking a break. I should….but I don’t (^_^)

Anyway, loudness isn’t the complete story - this was calculated to have a more cut-up, chaotic, occasionally “particulate” feeling, one that inspired Maurizio to utilize this different recording alias that hasn’t been used for quite a while. This feeling ended up being reflected in the track titles as well, a kind of chemical / scientific poetry and a reminder that “intensity” is already present at the molecular level.

Our aim with this (and I think, IMHO, we succeeded) was to fuse the sound of “old school” industrial electronics with more “novel” forms of processing, so as to make something more vital than just an homage or a purely self-referential work. Perhaps it’s our little hymnal to the law of conservation of energy.

I provided both the graphic layout for this one (minus the cover collage, an unmodified Maurizio original) and a good helping of sound design. Many different tools were brought in to get this to its final form, from good old analog, subtractive synthesis to pulsar synthesis, creatively smashed atoms of multi-lingual dialogue, guitar, etc. etc.

A special “die hard” / handmade version of 50 copies exists, featuring the following: “C90 Tape cassette+ CD in a digifile. comes in a handprepared Box with sprayed parts of old audio-platinas and a black glove as the packing for the tape and a stamped and numbered envelope as the inner-packing for the CD.”

Go forth and enjoy, and thanks to all who have already purchased one of these!
